Schauer Group, Inc (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website www.schauergroup.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
When you sign up for our email newsletter through Constant Contact, we collect:
- Email address — Required to send you our newsletter and related communications.
- Name (if provided) — Used to personalize communications. This field is optional.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our Site, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including via Google Analytics:
- Usage data — Pages visited, time on site, links clicked, and referring URLs.
- Device & browser information — Browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and device type.
- IP address — Used to infer approximate geographic location (typically city or region level). Google Analytics anonymizes IP addresses by default.
- Cookie identifiers — Unique identifiers stored in cookies to recognize returning visitors and measure traffic patterns.
We do not collect sensitive personal information. We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health or medical data, racial or ethnic origin, or precise geolocation data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Sending the newsletter & marketing emails — To deliver the newsletter you signed up for, promotional updates, and other content you requested. You may opt out at any time.
- Analytics & site improvement — To understand how visitors use our Site, identify popular content, diagnose technical issues, and improve user experience.
- Legal compliance — To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes, and to enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, or use it for purposes incompatible with those disclosed here without first notifying you.
3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our Site uses cookies — small text files placed on your device — as well as similar technologies such as web beacons and pixel tags. Cookies help us remember your preferences and measure how our Site is used.
Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential cookies — Required for the Site to function. They cannot be disabled without affecting site functionality.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — Placed by Google to collect aggregated data about Site usage — page views, sessions, bounce rate, and similar metrics. These cookies do not identify you personally. Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga, _gid, and _gat.
Your Cookie Choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers allow you to refuse, delete, or be notified before a cookie is placed. Note that disabling cookies may affect Site functionality.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provided by Google. You can also opt out of Google’s interest-based advertising via Google’s Ads Settings.
4. Third-Party Services
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use our Site. This information is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the Site, compile reports on Site activity, and provide other services relating to Site activity and internet usage.
We have enabled IP anonymization in Google Analytics, which means Google will truncate your IP address within the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to Google’s servers in the US and truncated there.
Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
For more information on how Google uses data collected through our Site, please visit: Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics Terms of Service.
Constant Contact
We use Constant Contact, an email marketing platform provided by Constant Contact, Inc., to manage our newsletter subscriptions and send email communications. When you subscribe to our newsletter, your name (if provided) and email address are transmitted to and stored by Constant Contact on their servers.
Constant Contact may use tracking technologies within our emails — such as pixel tags — to report whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. This helps us understand how our emails perform.
Constant Contact processes your data in accordance with their own privacy policy, available at: Constant Contact Privacy Statement.
You may unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
Applied CSR24
Our Site contains a link to CSR24, a cloud-based customer self-service portal and mobile app provided by Applied Systems. CSR24 is not hosted on our Site; clicking the link takes you to a platform operated independently by Applied Systems. The information displayed in CSR24 — such as auto ID cards, policy documents, billing information, and claims details — originates from Applied Epic, our agency management system, and is not collected through our Site.
Applied Systems processes your data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at: Applied Systems Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the privacy or data practices of Applied Systems’ platforms.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Business transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of our business, personal information we hold may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice on the Site if such a transfer occurs and your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your consent
We may share information with third parties when you have given us explicit consent to do so.
